VÚPC, as in Bratislava was founded in 1947. Its main goal was to support the development of the pulp and paper industry in Czechoslovakia. During his tenure, he participated in the preparation and implementation of development events of the Slovak and Czech pulp and paper industry. The main focus of VUPC's activities has always been focused primarily on technological research and development, its industrial application for technical assistance to pulp mills, paper mills and processing companies, to increase the qualifications of paper experts and to process and disseminate professional and economic information. The research institute has undergone several organizational changes, from the research organization of the Slovcepa production and economic unit, through the legal form of a state-owned enterprise to the joint-stock company it currently is. The instrumental and pilot plant facilities of the institute are at a high level. Together with the professional knowledge and skills of the staff, this has contributed to the fact that the results of the institute's work have satisfied many domestic and foreign customers over the decades. For the results of its work, the institute and its staff have been awarded many recognitions at the domestic and international level. Membership of the institute and its staff in international non-governmental organizations (CEPI, EUCEPA, TAPPI, CPPA, FEFCO, etc.) contribute to the acquisition of the latest scientific and technical knowledge and the international presentation of the results of their own work.
